Conversion Varnish - Overspray cleanup

I'm on the final coat(s) of EM8000cv on the dining room table project. Is there a way to buff or cleanup the table top surface to clear up over-spray?

If you spray towards your exhaust fan, starting at the edge furthest from the fan, you shouldn't have any overspray falling onto the top. If the top is too wide to reach across you could mount it vertically or at an angle and spray side to side starting at the top. Much better to avoid the problem than having to deal with it.

I agree with John but for minor dust nibs and maybe some overspray you can wipe it down with brown craft paper after it’s dry.

Problem 1 - The top weighs in around 350 pounds
Problem 2 - The top is so wide that I can't reach across it without touching it somewhere.

I have all the coats I want on the top. I just need to clean it up to make it look "snappy".

Try the kraft paper. When I’m spraying a top that I can’t reach across but can reach halfway I start by going all the way around spraying the edge then start on the top. Start close to myself and work to the middle then hustle around to opposite side and starting in middle work towards myself. Air movement I try to keep from fresh sprayed to not yet sprayed so overspray doesn’t land on fresh sprayed area.

I doubt the paper bag trick will work but give it a try. If it doesn't then you can use auto polishing compound on your ROS or buffer with the appropriate foam bonnet to get rid of the overspray. If you were lucky enough to have sprayed satin sheen then you can just use 0000 steel wool and Wool Lube or paste wax, or brass wool and soapy water by hand working with the grain. Another approach is MicroMesh pads or 3M Trizact film.

No sanding. I rubbed "briskly" with a clean cotton t-shirt and then polished the top after the install with Liquid Gold furniture polish. Came out good.
