Did not know that, do you know how they compare to the newer plastic ones?

I'm not sure I get the replies. I just set the K3 ? jig and drill for 1/2" and drill like normal. It takes 1" screws to assemble this setup. I use it for "quick" drawers all the time.

The metrics should be the same. They are just made of different materials and the newer blue plastic setups have some OEM options available that the "plain Jane" cast aluminum units that Bruce and I own didn't have...such as the side extension wings, etc. I use a couple pieces of scrap plywood for that.

    Thanks
If you read post in Kreg Owners Forum, poster used a 1/8" piece of hard board for shim, and set drill 1/8" shallower.

Jim, I converted one of my A-2 jigs to clamp from the front, instead of having to reach around behind to clamp material. Did the same with newer type jig, only using drill guide block.

You can get them from Amazon and Lowe’s usually has them. They are not available in course thread. 50FB8D5E-12E1-4BE4-A8B5-718DDB70B3BB.jpg

While the fine threaded fasteners are not ideal, they are fine if you don't over tighten them (care taken when driving the screws) and appropriate glue is used for the joint.
