Thread: Best Co2 cutter for around $3000-$4000

Some personal perspective about big Chinese lasers:

This was my 1390 Triumph sitting in the warehouse parking lot in China, waiting for the rest of the crate to be built around it:

and it's first stop in my garage shop-

Since 'options' are always brought up, I want to point out that this machine was an experiment, so I wanted as cheap as possible, so it is totally option-free. Note the stationary table, doesn't go up or down. But it DOES come out. And NOT getting the moving table was the best thing I did. Because had I gotten the moving table, none of these engraving procedures would have been possible:

this wood 'table' and a couple of clamps (there's now 3 clamps),
    cermarking cowbells-

Just find whatever works for what I need, like holding up
these elk antlers, these were fun--

an old shelf and a few 'attachments' allows me to level
out these PIA 'mega' cowbells to be cermarked-

Here I'm doing a 10" tall aluminum box, note the box
is resting on bottom of the crap-catch drawer--

If I remove the drawer (I cut out the metal below it so I could do this)
I now have a 19-1/4" x 12" hole that goes clear to the floor, which gives
me 38" of vertical focus clearance-!

This electronics housing is 17-1/2" x 7" x 28" tall, I'm using one of my
longer lens tubes (Triumph made them for me), and it's sitting on scrap
wood blocks, I still have 10" of space left...

This is a $900 Ebby Rane suitcase, I think I did 120 of these...

SO, I got the ability to laser engrave lots of stuff that normally isn't do-able, just by getting a stationary table-- which BTW IS a pain to remove and put back, but that's the only drawback. And the best part? -including the cheap 3000 chiller (replaced), a blower, air assist pump, shipping and duties, cost was less than $5000 to my door... As an experiment this machine has been a huge success, it's paid for itself many times over in the 6 years I've owned it.
