    Mantel is finished and installed

    Hi all,

A couple of pics of my finished mantel. It's solid cherry, overall dimensions are 126w x 50 1/2h x 10 1/2d. Finished with garnet shellac.

Paul, I really like the cherry and the flatsawn boards reveal an interesting grain that balances the simple lines.

Very nice. I always like cherry combined with black, and it looks really good with the fireplace.

Nice grain orientation in the columns and the mantel and it's big. Looks like it fits the space properly. Like it very much.
