    Beaded face frame notching jig

I built a updated version of a face frame notching jig that i posted a couple years ago. The original was loosely based off a similar jig i saw on you tube. Its all based around the kreg notching bits. This one got a zero clearance insert and air clamps.

Um,,not sure what to say, it looks industrial? does a great job, you must make a lot of those face frames to build a second jig.

The first jig was just a box and some clamps. This is still just a box and some (air) clamps.

Of the three kitchens I have lined up two are beaded inset.

I wouldn't consider it industrial its just a jig made out of scraps laying around the shop.

I have a idea for a semi automated version that runs a corrugated cutter head and plunges through the work that ill eventually build, but in reality its just a loose copy of a us concepts notcher. Think hinge boring machine on steroids.

    That's a slick jig.

I would love to have one of those US Concepts haunchers. I had an old JKO for a while, but it was too beat up to be reliable without a complete rebuild of the machine as well as the air over oil hydraulic system. So I got a Morso instead that turned out to be one of the rare near-perfect auction finds...

Nice. I use a Safety Speed Cut panel router with a similar setup. There is a Morso on woodweb right now but not cheap.

Couldn't help tweaking it. I added a horizontal clamping cylinder and ordered a couple solenoids, roller valves, a foot switch and dug out a 6" stroke cylinder. I should have it semi automatic by the end of the weekend.

So if you had a removable stop that would slide up into place on the right side could you mill the rail ends in the same jig?

Correct. That's how I currently cut the ends of the rails
