Thread: AMP rating of light fixtures

This is a bit off topic, but in California the common outlets sold are "tamper resistant" meaning that you have to have two prongs for the outlet to open. That is, you can't plug into one slot of the outlet, say with a paperclip. This may help to keep young children from sticking things into the outlets. It's better than the plastic covers that people used to stick into the outlets because people always forgot to replace them after they used an outlet. Maybe this is national and not just in California.

If you're going to replace a convenience outlet, I'd recommend those kind of outlets.

Go into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good.

Those have been a code requirement in residences for many years here. They can be a pain at times, but are sure a lot safer f
