Green Chair

Built from a picture, came out ok. The support for the armrests was sawn and box jointed. If I make another I'll do a bent lamination.

We're not built to sit long on hard chairs. Was going to upholster it but changed the plan. We use a loose chair cushion, cheap, easy, revisable if not quite right.

The footrests (on top of the wheels) work well.

Care to elaborate on the back joints. I'm guessing long screws or dowels. Just curious.

This chair is mostly Hickory, very hard and strong. The seat and armrests are Pine. The crest rail is a bent lam of Oak.

Joinery from the top down

Crest rail to uprights, 2 screws each side from the front, holes filled and painted over

Seat to armrest bracket, 4 screws in a 3" square in the center to allow for expansion, screwed from the top, holes filled and painted over

Armrests to bracket, M&T

Armrest brackets, sawn and box jointed together from 5 pieces

Armrest bracket to seat supports, 2 screws each side

Seat supports to uprights, M&T

Uprights to center board, M&T

Leg boards to center board, 4 screws each from the bottom

Wheels have 1" long x 3/8" studs, holes tapped directly into the Hickory
