I'm looking for a
barell for my dust collector.
Are these suitable?
It's a Clearview 1800.

I just noticed there is a 4 minimum limit. Anyone near 61265 need one....or 2, ideally 3 others
I got my metal 55 gallon drum from Rural King for $20. Got the lid and locking ring from McMaster, which weren’t cheap but couldn’t find the right kind for cheaper anywhere else and I did a lot of searching.
McMaster sells them individually though not as cheap. To answer your question though, Yes they will work.

Make sure it's not too tall. My CV1800 is in a space with 9' ceilings. I use a 30 gal galvanized trash can which will barely fit with the cyclone mounted as high as possible.
BTW, the suction is so powerful it collapsed the side of the first galvanized can I used. New cans from the same company are thinner steel than the cans from 10 years ago. Fortunately I had some of the old cans on hand.

You might need to reinforce it with staves or rings inside or outside.
check with your local spray liner company. I've purchased a resealable barrel from a dealer. Price was right. Barrel was acceptably clean.
My Oneida system uses a fiber barrel pretty much exactly like that. I've been using the same one for, oh...about 20 years now.

The most expensive tool is the one you buy "cheaply" and often...
John, that would have been close to the time that Big Daddy Don Garlits made his first appearance at Cordova Dragway.
Did you ever attend fuel races while you lived in the area?
