Case brand pocket knives - OK to laser engrave the handle?

We have a customer who wants some Case brand pocketknives engraved. Some will get the blade engraved, which is no problem as we'll use the fiber laser.

For some, though, they want the handle engraved. Case describes one of the 2 handle types we have as "synthetic" and the other type as "Pearl Kirinite."

I have a call in to Case, but considering the time of year I don't know if they'll get back to me quickly.

    Any input appreciated.

I'd try the fiber on that also. CO2 should work also.

Done Case knives on our CO2, and they looked great. Low power, multiple passes yielded a nice engraved/carved (deep) mark.

Have you done both the "synthetic" and "Pearl Kirinite"? We have some of both to engrave.
