    Used my board stretcher today

Making a side chair for my favorite customer, working from a picture and she decided it needs to be an armchair. Ok, I added arms, but they were too low. They are supported on 1" x 3" stalks from under the seat. Sawed the stalks off in a vertical spot and added 3" extensions using box joints. Came out ok. Hickory is pretty strong. Fortunately it gets painted.

Oops, that one armrest is not down for the pic.

Cool chair and amazingly clean shop.
Rustic? Well, no. That was not my intention!

Interesting chair design. It doesn't seem there is a back rest though. Is it just the canera angle? Akso curious about the base attachment.

I like it! I too am curious about the back rest.

In addition to the back rest question, I'm interested in the joinery around the seat to the structure...so some additional photos will be appreciated!

I thought it was funny that "Bender" was posting about "stretching" a board. Probably just me. It's Friday, and it's been a longgggggg week. :-)

Nice chair. I'd like to see the seat to leg attachment. Maybe post some detail pics in Projects forum?
