Gilboy’s YouTube antiques refinishing and rehab videos (links)

I’ve enjoyed the occasional video from this content provider from across the pond and thought I’d share a couple videos here for your viewing pleasure. It’s always interesting to me to see how others work. Tell me what you think.

I think I’ve watched all their videos as well...agree it’s interesting to see how they go about restorations. I like the Tom Johnson restoration videos also.

I’ll check Tom Johnson’s videos. Thanks for the tip.

Professional refinishing caught my interest during my freshman year in art school when I occasionally moved furniture for a fine furniture store. The first story was the showroom, second floor was the shop. They regularly reupholstered and refinished furniture for their clients. It was another world to me. I was most drawn to the refinishing guy’s operation, which was akin to magic to me at the time. It’s been demystified over the years, but I still appreciate watching other’s processes.

I was under the weather a few weeks ago so I ad a lot of couch time and cruised You Tube.

I ran across these videos and really liked them.

Theres another guy who refinishes stuff that he finds in garage sales that he refinishes that is pretty good to.
