air assist pipe problem vls 6.60

The air assist pipes going to the X axis keep slipping off the inlet stubs on the x axis. I've trimmed the end so new pipe would slip on, it just took a little longer to fall off. Now I've wrapped the inlet stubs with some tape and forced the pipe on, I'm planning on this as a temporary fix. Anyone use glue or loctite or some other plumbing compound to seal it on? Or a suitable clip (which is what I'd prefer so it's removable later on if I ever need to replace the pipes or remove the x axis)? Losing the pipes during a job is a guaranteed way to destroy a perfectly good quality lens (I use a cone).

How about a dab of silicone? Should be strong enough to hold it in place and give under pressure if/when you remove it.
