If I get a new body for the plane, I'll be into it for about the standard price of a Millers Falls 22 in good condition, so I will not be able to complain. But I'll have a second-quality body I can't get rid of!

I’m not making any recommendation, but since you put this out there as an option... I saw a new listing for a #22 body on the auction site today, looks to be in excellent condition, $44.50 shipped. I bought a MF block plane blade from that seller before, and they really exceeded my expectations.
