A cabinet making shop auction yielded this interesting looking tool. No name or marking is on it. Any idea what it's for?

It looks like some sort of shear to me. Like a rebar cutter, but with a much thinner blade.

"TubalCain" (Lyle Peterson) has a series of videos on YouTube called What Is It? with odd tools and things, an identification game like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex-CS7QXhL8
You could write to him and send a photo and he might know, or even make a video about it!

If you like machining, metalwork, and tools you might like his channel.

It appears to me that the tool is long sought board stretcher. You know the one, you can fix a board that you cut too short.
Rustic? Well, no. That was not my intention!
