I've been using the Klingspor belts with no issues. Just don't buy too many, of any brand/type. The glue line is the weak spot and when the belts get old it seems the glue deteriorates and the belt separates. AFAIK, this is an issue with all brands/types. A year or two isn't an issue, but when they get older than that they are prone to break.

I inherited a Delta 31-730 (48x12) combo sander, circa 1988. My dad bought it new - the receipt is tucked into the owner's manual.
    Sanding Machine: $600.00
    Motor and Stand: $269.00
    Miter Guage: $45.00
    Total: $914 + tax

    $914 in 1988 is worth $2147 today (2022)...

Thanks Steve. I'm going to assume it would be ~$1,500 in 2022 as I'm not sure too many folks would pay >$2,000 for a combo disc/belt sander.

Delta Woodworking tools ceased to exist as we know it a decade ago. I don't think the 31-730 combo sander has been available for twice that long.
I picked up a used one in 2001 for $400, IIRC. I still have it and use it frequently.
    Please help support the Creek.

My wife asked me to take her to one of those restaurants where they make the food right in front of you. So, I took her to Subway and thatís how the fight started.
