    Faux Cedar Shingles

    8646.1
I've been looking for some faux cedar shingles that have a little flex to them, to roof these draped roof azumaya designs.
The roof has a compound curve and I always use cedar shingles which will bend a little to the curves.

I've only handled one type of faux shingle and it was pretty stiff. Are there any out there that can flex, a little anyway??

I made a trailhead kiosk recently and used Brava brand synthetic shakes. I think they would have plenty of flex for what you have pictured.

You could steam standard shingles to bent them.

No a customer of mine can't use cedar or any wood shingle, that's why I need a faux shingle and the bend they need to make isn't that much.

Location, location, location...flammable materials like cedar of a roof are an issue.

Say Bradley, do those Brava shingles look good from below if placed over skip sheathing?

They have a diamond pattern on the bottom. I installed them on skip sheathing, and you can tell they are not wood, but the install sheet specs 5 1/2" wide sheathing on 10" centers, so you really can't see much of it.

I was able to get samples to show the client- they signed off on the appearance before ordering.

Thanks Bradley, so 2.5" wide skip wouldn't be acceptable?
