I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

My first thought was a cinnamon roll that was forgotten about in the freezer.

4 completely plausible answers, but still nothing definitive.

    The title doesn't say much.

Do you know the species and is this a game? Is there a prize?

If you don't know the species and want to, there are better ways than guessing. One way to start is to tell what you already know about the wood, where you cut the tree, the density, any smell, etc. A painless way is to send of a piece for free analysis. One of the best ways to do it yourself is to examine the end grain with a magnifier or microscope and look at the pore structure, presence of tyloses, etc. Search the net for wood database wood ID, read.

Or just make up a species. That might be as good as a guess!

It looks like some rhubarb oak I saw in a dream.

Animal or Vegetable? "Species" could apply to either and this feels like a trick question.

It would also help if we at least knew what Continent he lives on and if the wood is from that continent.
I assume it was grown on earth and not in the space station or inside Elons's greenhouse on Mars?
