    Router lift issue

I got my first router lift, a used Bench Dog with cast iron plate and Porter Cable 7518 3 1/4 hp router. It does not seem to work well with large bits. In this instance a 1/2" following trim bit 3" long and 3/4 diameter. The bit is slightly off kilter and you can see a slight wobble. 2 identical bits same problem

Ive used this bit in another table router with a Hitachi M12v 3 1/4hp router with not lift and had no problems.

Is there an inherent issue with router lifts using larger bits and holding center?

Sounds like a router problem unless the router is loose in the lift. If you remove the router from the lift does the bit still wobble?

Probably a problem with the collet.

I was wondering that myself. The collet seemed on the chinsey side. I had to get it from Rockler as the used router did not come with a 1/2 collet. Is the Rockler version a Porter Cable part or after market? Should I look for a Porter Cable collet? thanks!
