I guess I can use this..

Just an old Stanley 8" square.
    Check a square 1.JPG
The 2 lines are from a test. Edge closest to the camera had been jointed a while back..so
    Check a square 2.JPG
Use the straight edge, mark a line across the face...then, flip over..
    Check a square 3.JPG
Make a second line beside the first...and see if they are parallel to each other...
Looks close enough for the girls I run with....
Try it sometime...you might like it

Kind of pretty, but I must admit that my first thought was....... "because Steve needs another square"

My next thought was "I need to sneak in and steel it" followed by "because I need another square"

I hope you enjoy it. It looks pretty nice. How much clean-up did you have to do.

Oh hell, if I come out, it will be to party with you...... :-)

    Now I just need time.

As much as I hate being so busy, I will regret it when I don't because it will probably mean that all of my babies have left home!

Weeelll, ya missed a fancy oil stone gizmo....metal can, holds 3 long oil stones of different grits, rotate to change to the next grit ( like a Lansky) while the next one is soaking in the oil....$75...which I didn't have.....saw a lot of other woodworking tools, mechanics' tools...I did pick a couple oil stones..for a $1...

Steven, your old try square looks to be in pretty good shape. I just posted about the accuracy of those old try squares. I have one that was my dads, it is not as old, based on the design, but it is in like new condition, and it is dead on 90 degrees as far as I could tell.

Yours looks like it was a fairly high dollar model in its day.

    Good find!
