    Tall Tambour Doors

I am going to build a cabinet with tambour doors. I visualize the doors as being 42 inches high and about 20 inches long. I will be using walnut. Is the 42 inch in height reasonable and doable for tambour doors?

Thank you all in advance for any feedback.

Which direction do the tambour's slats run? The 42" direction, or the 20" direction?

The 42 inch direction. Pretty tall...

42" is a little tall but I've seen them a lot bigger. In fact often a roll top desk uses a tambour nearly that tall, you just don't see it with all the curves. Just make sure the channel has a good amount of slack to it and thoroughly wax the channel before you install the tambour.
