Hi everyone,
Starting to plan the bar area in my basement and need a little advice. I am going to be doing a reclaimed wood wall in my basement. The wall this will be attached to is stone/concrete (foundation wall). I am going to insulate the wall and then attach 2x4s so I can mount the wood slates. I was considering laying the 2x4s flat against the wall to save space as this is a small basement. The 2x4s will not be load bearing at all, strictly for the reclaimed wood and a tv mount.
My question is, is there any issue laying the 2x4s flat against the wall as opposed to the standard perpendicular? is there a better way to go about this?
Thanks for the help!
Steve
