This approach works great if you like the tormek jigs. Allows you to have faster cbn wheels for things like your turning tools and also have the tormek for more refined sharpening on other items.

I think a few like John Jordan use CBN wheels on their tormek also, so there are lots of options. But mainly if you go my route just make sure you like the tormek jigs over say the wolverine jigs or similar.

Of course lots of folks can freehand sharpen too but not me. LOL

I wonder if they're about to come out with a new model.

Or get rid of remaining inventory and give it up and start hog farming.

I'm with you - I want a variable speed reversible motor. I find the power enough. I use mine with a 1200 grit CBN wheel, a water wheel on the second one.

Well, the T-8 is down to $595......

The Hand Tool kit dropped from $220 yesterday to under $140 today, cheapest it has ever been. It has dipped close in the past but goes right back up.

    Greg,

Is the following the Rikon you have? What CBN wheels did you put on, and which Tormek jigs do you use? I've steered clear of a Tormek due to price, but their jigs are nice. Thanks.

Makes you wonder if the cheap clones, like the Grizzly, have been stealing sales.

Was and still is overpriced at 595.

Yes, I own one in case you were thinking it's just sour grapes.
