    Skunk Fest

Is anybody go the to the Skunk Fest in North Ridgeville Ohio this weekend. My daughter will be taking my grand son there as she lives there and it is fun to meet and greet the different skunks.

Not going, never heard of it, but would sort of like to. Had a pet skunk as a house pet when I was in grad school. Adopted him from a woman whose relative died and had the little guy. His name was Flower. (he came with that name) He was great with me, but he really disliked when anybody came to visit. When I finally would unwind in the evenings in front of the boob tube, he would curl up on the couch next to me and sleep. Loved his belly rubs and ears scratched. He would eat most anything, apple cores were his favorite. Had him two years. when he passed on I looked around to get another, but the laws had changed so much, it was a PIA to get another.

I had a string of exotics when I was growing up. Raccoon, Great horned owl, (raised from a chick) red squirrel, took care of others, deer, fox kits, baby ground hogs, even a bear cub for a few weeks. (foul creature) As an adult, I had the skunk, and later a doe named Tinkerbell. My adult daughter came home with a pig ( not a pot belly) a month ago. It follows her every where. Goes for walks with her, comes when called, jumps and carries on like a puppy when daughter goes into the barn. If my daughter sits down in the barn to read, the pig lays on her feet.

Is this similar to the garlic festival where they test out free samples of mouthwash etc? Will they have skunk flavor ice cream and such like as well?

They still have the Skunk Train in Northern California from Fort Bragg, home to a campus for College of the Redwoods, to Willits.

When I was growing up a friend had a pet skunk and it acted like a dog would walk on lease and follow you around
