    Spraying Tinted Clear

Added Mixol to clear top coat. Overlapping passes by as close to 50% as I can get I'm getting noticeable striping. Put second coat on now checker board. I'm using Target Emtech 9300. Should I spray diagonals, or perhaps many more coats except lighter, brush (I'm currently laying down 2-3mil).

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks
    Mike

I usually spray toners in two or three coats, and with each of those I spray overlapping passes the length of the parts and then another pass at 90°, so that means I'm spraying 4 to 6 coats in all.

If you are getting stripes you have the color too concentrated. It would be better to spray it thinner and do multiple coats. Also you need to adjust the fan on the sprayer to where it sprays a wide pattern. Once you get the color go back over it with clear to make the finished coat.
