kreg clamp problem

Have the original type but spring kept popping out so i got one of these .It has never worked right . sometimes will not tighten up to much other times not at all .today the first time i used it was great . then it wouldn't release enough to do the same thing again .In video's shows the smiling wood worker loving it . is there something i am missing or was this some expensive junk .

I have also had problems with the new Kreg clamps, if the swiveling pads don’t contact the wood parallel to the surface they will not tension correctly and have to be retracted and reclamped.

I also had difficulties with the clamp, I contacted customer service and they gave me a couple suggestions on how to fix it. The suggestions did not fix the problem. They sent me a new one. Kreg customer service was great to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to buy their other products if needed.
