Popcorn Bowl Ten years in the making

Sometimes things just don't work out right.
Ten years ago my neighbor gave me a pile of hard maple logs and I told him I'd make him a popcorn bowl.
Well I rough turned it that day and it's been drying ever since.
Just never got back to it.
    Well today was the day.
11 inches in diameter...3 inches high....finished with WOP satin.
He's been waiting for popcorn a long time

If I think about it...he's getting a better bowl than I would have turned 10 years ago.

    John,

I read the subject of this thread and immediately thought WOW, 10 years to turn a bowl... That would probably make your production cost (labor) skyrocket to a couple million dollars! Haha...
    Very nice work BTW!

Dennis!!! Good to see you again my friend. Speaking of 10 years ago....I still use the steady rest you built for me way back then.
We've been lucky on the heat this year. The shop's pretty comfortable

Speaking of 10 years ago...I'm still using the BS I bought from your BIL IIRC and still have some spalted sycamore from the log dump.

Are you still in the Cleveland area?
