    A Fair Piece

Here's a piece I did to enter in The Great Geauga County Fair. It won a blue ribbon but shortly after, it was on display at an outdoor event and a freak storm showed up and blew it off the stand.
The flared disk under the body broke in half and broke my heart.
Took me a year to figure out how to fix it.
Ended up removing the stem, turning away the flare, making a new one, and putting humpty dumpty back together again.
Anyway....all is right with the world again.
Oak burl, walnut, and cherry. Finished in gloss lacquer.

I can see why you won the Blue Ribbon John. I'm glad you were able to repair it!

Very eye pleasing. Is the picture the repaired one or the original ? The lacquer finish looks extremely well done, btw.

Robert....that picture is the repaired piece.
This picture is it waiting to be repaired....you can sorta see it in the background. For the life of me I can't find the original picture. I'll check at work tomorrow
