    Wooden toy boat video- neander style

    I've been looking into buying a jointer for a while, and then I see this video:

    Interesting juxtaposition of old world hand tool craftsmanship with modern Youtube social media. Also interesting that both his saws and plane are western style ie cut on the push rather than pull stroke like Japanese saws and planes. Thanks for sharing.

    Actually, the saws and planes are Chinese style.

    This Chinese style influenced the Japanese around the time of the Tang dynasty (I think?)

    I always thought western style saws and planes cut on the push stroke while eastern style saws and planes cut on the pull stroke. It appears in the video that he is cutting on the push stroke, thus my comment.
