I have the Ecogate auto gate system. Bought it 10+ years ago. Sensor on motor activates gate opener when machine is turned on. You can program the system to turn on the DC as well when the machine is turned on and can specify run time after turning off the machine. I knew that when moving from machine to machine as I mill stock i would be too lazy to bend over to open/close the gates. A bit spendy but well worth it for a hobbiest that mills a lot off rough stock. I only have four machines with auto gates--that's how many were included with the package-- and may get more when full retirement lends more shop time. Not familiar with the Ivac but it seems similar and I'm not sure if the Ecogate is still sold for hobby sized applications. I gulped when I bought it but it has proven to be well worth the investment.
