That would be perfect for a table raising mechanism for drill presses like my PM1150.

I built a mechanism for lowering the casters on my workbench using a scissor jack at it's core. This would have made things a little simpler because I had to integrate a crank wheel with the manual jack.
Someone makes a 120 volt version as well.

According to Amazon's website, this has been discontinued by the manufacturer. There are others, albeit a bit more expensive. I'd be interested in the 120v version.
