    Creeker's Past Week's Accomplishments

    17 Jun 2019

    Greetings,
I finished oncall duty this morning and I did spend time in the shop this past week. Making various cutting boards and getting other things done in the shop. I’m trying to find a local resource for sharpening my saw blades but that appears to be a challenge in my neck of the woods.

That’s it for me, so what did you do this past week?

Best of weeks to you all!
    Thanks & Happy Wood Chips,
    Dennis -

Dennis, I'm glad you are back to getting shop time! You may be forced to send your blades out, unfortunately. So many "local" shops no longer exist.

Shop-wise, I spent most of my time enjoying my new-found interest in guitar building with the CNC this past week. Ya gotta love a branch of "woodworking" that permits one to buy some new specialized tools, too. The first build is in the finishing process and I have a second body that's moving along. The first is a pretty standard "Telecaster" solid body. I expect that the majority of the finish work will be done by the end of this week if all goes well...the spray gun setup that I bough upon recommendation from John T awhile back is performing beautifully. I'll get to the fun and games of fretting the neck at first opportunity, too. THAT part is totally new to me and I will be going slow. In addition to the fun, I took in a new small commission for some collaborative work to do a few things that the CNC is ideal for. The maker is relatively new to woodworking and another 'Creeker did some joinery for him already. My piece is to stablize a slab on the bottom and then do some precisely spaced hole and dish cutting to support the things that the project will be used to display.

Other than that, it was the usual mix of lawn care, a little landscape work, playing "Uber" driver to my older daughter to/from work and medical things, cooking for the family and working on some modeling skills in Vectric Aspire.
