Bitrex deer repellent, a garden maintenance thread

Few years back there was a deer deterrent with an active ingredient called Bitrex ,the worlds most bitter
substance. Saw some brief comments today like "currently we can't get it". I've read that it has also been
used to keep hospital employees from drinking grain alcohol. That would have made a less funny MASH TV show !
Anybody know why it's off the market. The Bitrex has a number of ebay sellers in China.

I have not heard of that product, Mel. I do have reasonably good results with Liquid Fence for the hostas in the beds around our home. They are about the only thing that local deer tend to bother with.

Thanks,Jim. I guess it might be that the ebay stuff has just taken over. I'm using it. Just thought it strange that pics of
the original product are plentiful ,but no product. It's really effective. If you mix your own ,it's a good idea to add something with a scent so that the deer will avoid it after one bitter encounter.
