I have one of this style mounted on the wall (not the same make/model). No batteries and the overwhelming positive feature is that is is always in the same place.

I purchased one of those at an art supply store and am very happy with it. They even have replacement blades.

I purchased a similar on ages ago at an art supply store in Berkeley, CA. Still use it but the blade is a bit worn.

Panasonic is hands down the best for power sharpeners. Only drawback is the small shavings drawer. Holds less than ten pencils worth.

That one stays in its own pocket on my tool belt for when I’m not near one of the numerous crank handle sharpeners. I even have one crank handle for clamping to scaffolding for when I’m up off the ground.

That's the style I have...the previous owners of our previous property were school teachers and left one in the building that became my shop. It now lives here in the new shop. It's a Boston brand.

Multiples permanently mounted solves that problem. I like the old Berols best but the Xactos aren’t bad. I even have replacement cutters for the Berols.

I just checked and there are pages of them on eBay, including no shortage of NOS ones. I like the single hole ones best.

I've had a similar one in my shop for years. It also works to chamfer dowels. Mine doest see much use because I switched to .5 mm mechanical pencils.

I use the 12" disc sander on my Shopsmith for all sharpening of round pencils. It's a little underpowered, but it makes a nice point at various angles depending what I'm doing, and I have never lost it yet.

Like mentioned, I use an Panasonic electric one, and prefer the sharpening angle to the angle on hand held pocket sharpeners which is steeper. The crank and electric ones deliver a sharper point in my judgment.
