Tablesaw long dado arbor, any drawbacks?

I picked up a delta 12/14 tablesaw today. this saw has removable arbors for different diameters and lengths. It only came with a one inch short arbor. If I find or make one long enough to mount a dado set is there any reason not to leave that longer arbor in place all the time?
I understand grizzly used to make a clone of this saw and had some arbors in stock. probably all sold off by now. There was never a 5/8 factory arbor made for this saw.

My short arbor allows for a 3/4" dado if I leave the outer flange off. The nut is large enough that I don't feel I need it. The arbors tend to be hard to remove. If you tilt the blade to 45 and there is room for the longer arbor, I can see no downside to leaving it on permanently. Dave
