Recipe boxes, from scraps of Ash

Rather than toss the scraps into a fire pit...scraps were thinned down to around 5/16" thick...more or less....one box got handcut box joints, the other got through dovetails...
    Ash Box 2, lid opened.JPGAsh Box 2, 2 lids.JPGAsh Box 2, handles.JPGAsh Box 2, Lids done.JPG
For scale...lids are 5/16" x 4-1/2" x 7-3/8", not counting the fingergrip. Stain was Mimwax Puritan Pine, with a drizzle of Dark Walnut mixed in.

Letters came from Wall E World. hardware came from Hobby Lobby, and Menard's....the Boss has already claimed one of these, the other one goes to either friends, or Family.

tried to show off the grain a bit....better than just burning these scraps.

Good use of your scraps and well done. Thinking outside the box, so to speak.
