Many of the things missed about my old home were gone before moving.
Somethings are forever. Here are a couple of pictures of one of the wondrous beauties of California:

Jim, we have California poppies in our garden in Tasmania. They survive despite harsh weather and grazing wallabies and give us unexpected colour when not much else will. I don't think you can see mine from 35000 feet though... Cheers
