    Textured spalted hard maple bowl.

Expanding to texturing bowls. Limited the technique to mostly stationary patterns. Bowl is about 8” wide and 3” deep. Finish is wipe on poly. Texturing was done with the Sorby mini tool.

Nice form, great wood and excellent control of the texturing tool. I suspect you've used it a lot. Did you use different wheels for the project or are they all done with the same wheel?

Dave I used 2. The star wheel makes straight dotted lines and multiple dots when moved back and forth. The finer gear wheel makes dashes and triangles depending on presentation. The rim is a good example.
