    Stair Transition - Advice

Thanks to everyone's advice I'm almost complete with my stair project. However, I'm left with the finishing stair nose transition. IMG_20190319_055612107.jpgIMG_20190319_055533333.jpg
I eventually will add hardwood to the landing but with the rounding edge of the plate in the second picture i can't get the stair nose to go completely across for a nice finish. Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks.

One thought i had was to run an oscillating saw on the plate to make room for the stair nose to slide under and go the full length of the stair.

Can you do a jack miter? Make the stair nosing the same radius as the existing and run a small transition molding under them both.

You need a piece of landing tread. Cut the rug back and glue down a piece. If you need to lower it a bid you can reduce the thickness of the tread section to 3/8".

Thanks Richard, do I need to do anything to get it under the white stair plate? The stair extends under it a bit and leaves a gap.

I routed out the top a bit so it slide under. Finished product now!
