    Buckeye wood

Is the wood from a buckeye tree useful? Does it have another name? (I haven't seen it at the lumber yard)

    Buckeyes yeah great football team
Buckeye tree is related to the horse chestnut .Low density and low strength comparable to basswood or aspen. It the cutter harvests it is probably sold for pulp or pallet slats

Highly prized with woodturners if there is some figure. It changes colors and spalts beautifully. But changes from great color to rotten very quickly since it is so soft. Turns to a blue/gray, with streaks of brown and cream color while spalting.
