    Wood ID

    This wood came from a pallet, not sure of origin. End grain and face grain scratches, slightly, but does not dent easily with fingernail. Any help s appreciated.

    It could possibly be maple.

    Based on the pictures, particularly the ray fleck in the last one, I'm going to guess a harder variety of soft maple. Harder than silver, softer than sugar.
