I found these 2 old photos of a chair and table I made about 10 years ago. The chair is made with steam bent Ash. The table is also made from Ash.

That chair looks very comfortable. Nicely done! Both designs compliment each other.

It's a very comfortable chair and it still gets used a lot as far as I know.
I knew I still had a photo somewhere of the footrest that I made a few weeks later. Also made from steam bent Ash.
Those are some fine work. You should be extremely proud of them.

Those are some great pieces! The chair is beautiful. Did you design it as well?

That is the best looking design of legs for a round table that I've seen. Thank you!
Jessica — Curious on the chair arms ... how are arms attached to the back of the chair? It’s hard to tell from the picture. Ash is such a great wood for bending!

Very clean design, and craftsmanship! WOW.
You can't see it in this photo but I placed two 15mm pieces on the back (I think it was 15mm). The arm rests are attached to them with a mortise and tenon joint.
Most of you are probably wondering how sturdy this chair is because the Ash is not that thick. There are 3 white oak, 30x50mm braces underneath the seat. The 2 thicker rear legs also go up further up the back and I placed 2 small braces between them.
Jessica, do you do a lot of steam bending ? Is that something you have to have a big set-up for ? Is ash an especially good wood for bending ? I know baskets are made of soaked ash.
As others have said, beautiful designs and execution. I am frequently impressed with the creativity and skills around here .

Beautiful work, as always. Thanks for posting it!
