    Small Parts Vise

I have built several iterations of this vise over the past decade or so for holding small parts and irregular shapes. A while back I needed an in between sized vise and didn't have one. So, I made the parts, got busy and set them aside. After almost 2 years I decided it might be time to put it together finally.

This is a combination of a Leg vise, jewelers vise and what Benchcrafted is calling a Hi Vise.

Unlike most vises, I made the fits rather loose so that it can accommodate irregular and angled shapes easily.

Looks handy. I like it. I don't have a wood threader but may make something like this using an acme thread or similar.

Thanks. This would be easy to build using almost any threaded rod of any description. Depending on the size you make it it probably wouldn't see really high stresses on the screw so I'd imagine even some 1/2-13 would be sufficient. ACME threads would of course be better by far.
