Thread: Can I cut at 600 ipm? Question answered!

    I had to look it up, mine has a travel speed of 3800 ipm.

    I'd be curious to know how long it takes to ramp up to a normal cutting speed or the travel speed.

    Martin...
    I would bet any machine with rapids that stout would be sub 1/2 second. Some of those big iron machines can accelerate at 20,000 ipm/per second. The Teknic servos on my "Ultimate" machine were accelerating to 800ipm in .2 seconds during the tuning phase. Measured on the tuning software scope.

    I remember seeing a massive Trumpf laser at a trade show with rapids of 11,000 ipm. I don't know what the accel params were set to but it was like watching teleportation. But then, it was a 7 figure price tag.
