    Old lamp. Trying to identify.

    Does anyone recognize this piece?
It's either copper or a copper alloy, but I don't know which.
There are absolutely no identifying markings on it...nothing.
I would like very much to find out more about it.
Does anyone know what flower is in the pattern?
There was no shade with it.

Sorry, but no clue. But it's a lovely base. Has kind of an art nouveau look to it, so maybe early 20th century?

That's within the range I was thinking.
It is made entirely of metal, including the grommets.
    This piece is heavy.

Looks like it could be initials, but not in an alphabet that I recognize. Try enhancing the contrast & doing a Google image search.

Slightly OT, but I am told there are programs and apps that will sort through millions of on-line pictures looking for similar designs and items. Sort of like facial recognition for objects. Would not know where or how to find such a thing.

Have you checked it with a magnet? The second photo you posted appears to show some spot rust.

There appears to have letters forged into the base of the stem.

A magnet will tell. I wonder if the base is casted and then plated.

Yep. The entire piece is magnetic.
    A knock-off?

I did a google reverse image search and it mostly came up with antique coins. Perhaps repeating such a search with a photo that shows the entire lamp or more of the lamp might yield better results.

You may want to look for online (antique) catalogs from the Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass & Glass Co. They were one big maker of lamps with cast bases somewhat similar to yours. But there were many others too....

    Might be Hippeastrum or amaryllis.
Acanthuses is the Greek column flower on the top. it is not that.
