They look interesting for knock-down solutions...pretty simple. Based on the various photos, I do not believe they pull the joint together...you do that and then drive the screw. But I certainly could be wrong about that.

Yea I don’t think those pull the joint together, it certainly doesn’t look like it. But the official Festool connectors do. And they are very well built. Pricey though.
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success!
