    Back from the dead

It's been about 10 years since I've actively posted on this forum...way back when I was taking care of the AAW's website. Anyway, thought you might like to see what I've been up to recently: yoyos, finger-tops and throw-tops mainly.

Amboyna burl TerrorTop (yo-yo/spintop hybrid) with rose engine embellishments:

Italian Olivewood yo-yo and matching display with integrated fidget spinner:

Oregon Myrtlewood throw-top with guitar finger board 1/4" inlays and a poker chip button that doubles as a lid (cord stores inside):

Australian Sheoak spin-top, fidget spinner and gyroscope, melded into one:

Great! I have fond memories of tops and yo-yos but Duncan never sold anything like these!

The yo-yo/spin top hybrid is fantastic!

Speaking of Duncan, these are recently made replicas of the Duncan "Pointed Satellite" from the 1950's...never released to production and only one original exist as far as I know.

Ed, do you still offer the DVD on making the basic yo yo?

And these are beautiful, of course. The yo yo I got from you a few years ago has a place of honor in my display case.

Hey John. Yes, I still have a few copies of that old DVD on hand. I think it was made in 2003. You might be able to find a copy through your local AAW chapter's library. If anyone wants a copy for yourself, just cover the cost of shipping, which should run $3 to $4 within the USA. Send me a message if you're interested and we'll work something out.

Don't forget to look at his web site too! http://yoyospin.com/ And consider supporting your favorite turning artists and order something! I bought the first one Ed made with the aluminum mesh embedded in black resin, similar to this one:

Thanks again, John. That resin impregnated aluminum mesh product is called C-Tek...very easy to work with and a great way to liven up your turnings. Comes in several different colors and thicknesses as well. And please, as John said, support your turning friends and those whose work you admire...buy their stuff.

    Ed,
Doesn't appear you are accepting PMs, FWIW.

What a fun thread!! I've made finger tops and a brother-in-law has asked for a yo-yo.

Ed I sent you a pm.

I don't know about the PM but I see an email address on the yoyospin web page.
