    MM-16 Blade length?

Good afternoon. What length blades are other owners running? I purchased a MM-16 vintage 2003. I looked at the label on the column and ordered a blade 143". Of course it will not go on. So by calculation and tying a string around the wheels I get a range of 144 1/8" to 146 7/8". I am now thinking 145" is good. Advise please Thanks, Walt

Wow! There is a significant difference between your MM-16 and my MM-16! The sticker on mine says 151.18" MIN to 154.33 Max. I ordered 154" and have been using them. I wish I'd ordered something closer to mid-range!

I was wondering if it has to to do with age. 154" is what is called out on Sawblade.com.

Band length has changed a few times as Minimax has bumped up the resaw capacity.
    My 2004 MM16 has a Min of 146.4 and a Max of 149.6

Walter, if I was in your shoes, I'd take the middle of your string measurement as you suggested in your first post.

If you have the 12" resaw version like I do, the blade length I use is 145".

I should have checked it out more when I saw the large difference on the web site. I am going to reorder at 145". My big wonder is why their sticker on their saw is so far off.

Are you positive the band you ordered is what you ordered? It wouldn’t be the first time a band was made undersize, particularly if the person making it had a bad weld or two.

I will check it at work Monday but I think it's probably what I asked for. Even then it's 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 small to the machine. $ 28.00 lesson. Thanks

You have 16" resaw. The version that the OP and I have is the older 12" resaw version. Shorter band.

No mine has a shorter re-saw. Previously I thought the 2005 versions had the same re-saw as previous ones but a slightly larger motor. But maybe they were odd by having a slightly larger re-saw (still less than full 16”) and a larger motor. Anyway mine has a 146.45” to 149.60” sticker. The Carbide re-saw blade that came with the saw had a tag that said 149” and so that is the size I’ve ordered For other blades.
