    Epoxy river table

Any reason that I would not want to make an epoxy river table using pine?

It's personal preference, but keep in mind that the resin may be a lot "harder" than the softwood so you'll need to take care when you get to the sanding phases of your project.

What kind of pine and how dry? High pitch content pine may have an issue with bonding with the casting resin. Some pines move a ton from season to season, making bonding difficult as well.

Also a personal preference but there is substantial cost and manhours involved in making a river table, I think I'd start with something more interesting than pine.
