Here's a piece I did as a gift. Just a walnut hollow form with a hat. A little over 7" diameter. Finished with WOP.

Glad to see you post something you made, John! Is that 3 pieces to make the whole, [not including the finial]? That is not the easiest form to pull off in a one piece that flares back out like this one does.

Yes, Roger....it is 2 separate pieces that I turned independently and put together prior to final finish turning. It's a bit tedious on the precision aspects but worth the trouble in patience.
