    Planer test boards

Not really a project yet. I bought a Cutech ( dewalt 734) planer. Tested it today. Had a piece of SYP that some one else cut for me 2 inche one end about an inch on the other end. After a bunch of passes got it down to 3/4 each end.

Then I had some short red oak that I cut. Trying to figure out what to do with it. Any suggestion would help.

It looks like the red oak has been exposed to water for some period of time and is starting to rot. It also appears that it may have been wet when you planed it which if that is the case, it is a bad idea.

As far as what to do with the wood, you could make small boxes from it.

with rain we have had in GA everything is wet. It splated not quit to rot. This a tree I had to drop last year. Had no way to mill it. I have some SYP been down a year I can not get to right now again it had to come down. This stuff there was no plan for it. If I can not salvage it . It keep us warm.
